I have a condition that causes intense pain in my feet. What’s a good aerobics exercise for me?

I have Planar Facitus (commonly known as heel spurs). This causes intense pain in my feet which gets worse when I stand or walk for long periods. I also have very stiff legs and soreness in the leg muscles. What’s a good aerobics exercise for me. Bike riding causes me almost as much pain as walking.
Do these exercises to stop the plantar fasciitis problem and then do either yoga or Pilate’s to work on the flexibility and strength that you need. Do these exercises right before you get out of bed and right before going to sleep. From a long sitting position keep the knees straight and stiff. Have the muscles of the feet pull the front of the feet towards the knees. You will know that this is working as there will be a pulling sensation in the calves. Hold that pull for ten seconds and relax. Do that routine ten times. Once you have mastered this movement the same movement can be done standing or sitting. The more that it is done the faster the problem resolves. In the sitting position you can also grab the big toe and pull it up towards the knee at the same time that the feet are being pulled up. The next movement is done on the floor. Squat down fully but maintain heel contact with the floor. Initially you may have to hold onto something to keep your balance but once the muscles of the feet become strong enough you will not need to. Stay in that position for thirty seconds. Try to do this at least twice a day and it should always be done barefoot or in socks. Once this problem has been taken care of then you should be able to do any sport or exercise program that you want. You should always remember to do these movements right after doing any exercise program to keep the bottom of your feet loose.

You want to get a under saddle bike bag so you can carry a spare tube, tool kit with tire levers and a patch kit. A air pump that mounts under the water bottle cage. Two water bottles. A cycle computer to keep track of your distance. A heart rate monitor to help you train. You can get a handle bar bag to carry your phone, food, wallet, etc. They attach with velcro straps and are easy to put on and take off. Cycling shorts and jerseys make cycling a lot more comfortable.

You can get the bags, cycle computer, water bottles, tubes, tool kit, frame pump at Walmart. Amazon is great for the rest.

I’m 16 why can’t I get a job?

I am 16, I live in Ontario, Canada. I have had several online business ventures, have considerable experience in customer satisfaction and solving problems. I have strong computer and communication skills. I don’t have much experience working under someone, just lawn cutting for a company that I can’t get a reference from. All of that is on my resume.

This may sound like a strange answer but your resume is too good. Think of it this way, you are an employer at wal-mart, you don’t want a computer programmer, or someone with allot of other skills as they are not likely to stick around for long.

You need to custom tweak each resume depending on the job. Your resume sounds like you are 25 years old with allot of business experience. Now don’t get me wrong that is fantastic! But it is not what an employer might be looking for.

Just one extra tip, I don’t like the:

“To obtain a position that will enable me to use my strong communication skills, customer-oriented background and ability to work well with people.”

It is too impersonal you should say something like:

“I have strong communication skills and enjoy working with people. I feel I could be a asset to any company as I have experience in dealing with customers and get on well with others”

Hope that helps : )

Does his aspergers syndrome make him so paranoid? Need some help?

Here is a list of the things he’s paranoid about:

*Supermarkets. His opinion is that it’s all “Mass media produced crap” He said the air in the supermarket is so filled with chemicals that it burns his throat. He says ‘everything’ in the supermarket is unhealthy, even the fruit and vegetables. Apparently they’re not ‘organic’ enough.

* Watching TV: He says the adds on TV pollute our minds, and the TV shows are never based on reality. Even the ones that claim to be. He says all the acting is terrible, and when I watch TV, he mutes the adds, and takes me out of the room. In order to avoid the “Mass media produced items on TV”.

*Using chemicals: This would include – Makeup, hair products, cleaning products, face products, bath products, candles (unless organic), incense (unless organic), creams/lotions, things to help muscular pain, any kind of healing creams, and anything else with any ingredients that aren’t ‘all natural’.

*Having any chemicals in the house: According to him, because I have face cream, makeup, and nail polish in my room, the air is polluted. He also says the laundry is polluted, and the kitchen. He is against washing dishes, or clothes. He says it’s unhealthy, and not natural. Apparently he is still searching for all natural cleaning things. He says 90% of the natural cleaning products are fakes.

*Spending time with people who use chemicals: He only talks to people who are ‘totally’ natural. The only people I’ve met who are ‘totally’ natural, would be his parents. His mother doesn’t shower, and has never cleaned. Her house made me vomit.

*Showering: He says It’s ‘un natural’ to shower more than once a week. He only showers when he really ‘needs’ to, because of the ‘chemicals’ in the water. He makes exceptions for rivers though.

*Not exercising enough: His ambition is to exercise 7 hours a day, non stop. He’s obsessed with it, and never stops.

*Dust particles in the air: He says my house has dust particles which clog up his throat. He complains about it continuously.

*Hair particles in the air: He says it’s from my dog, and her hair goes in his throat.

*Any kind of vehicle: He only walks, or rides his push bike.

*Getting a job: He is against it, and never wants to work. He says it’s unhealthy. He doesn’t want to be like other people.

*Getting educated: He is also against this. He says the education system is ‘stupid’ and corrupted. He has never studied for anything.

There are other small things, like not liking it when I do anything with my appearance. To paint a picture of him, he’s a fairly short, thin man. Has an arabic/indian like appearance. Scurries like a mouse when he walks, sways his arm when he walks, and looks like he’s gay. He has a big over sized back pack, that most likely weighs more than him. He also carries several other bags, and wears dorky plastic shoes, high waisted shorts, and often strange looking tops. He is also often seen wearing big strange hats. He spends him time collecting rubbish, hunting for garage sales, plucking hairs from his legs, being ‘healthy’, and looking for money on the streets. He likes to live the ‘alternative’ lifestyle. In his back pack he has everything from a first aid kit, to a swag.

Do my question is, why is he so paranoid?
Is it because of his aspergers?
*SO my question is.

Should I invest in a bike?

Ok, so I can’t drive yet and I work at a horse farm about 8 miles from my house. My parents always have to drive me and I’m starting to feel kind of bad (we calculated that it costs about $10 to drive me there and back) and we can’t really afford it, since I work there 5 days a week in the summer… I think once school starts I will only be working weekends though. Is 8 miles too far for a 14 year old to bike? I already run a lot (usually around 4 miles a day) so I’m used to the exercise.

If I did get a bike, I would be biking down a fairly hilly road that would be ‘safe’ to bike on then a stretch of a busy road (maybe 3 miles) that dose not have sidewalks, but it does have bike lanes (I think).I don’t think I would be able to bike in the winter though because of the ice and snow. I’m a 5’4 14 year old girl. Should I get a bike, and if so, any recommendations? Where should I get it? (will the bikes from walmart fall apart?)

Also, any ideas on how long it would take me to bike 8 miles?
So will a cheap bike fall apart?
I don’t need a fancy bike that fits perfect, could i find a good one for under 100?

I would definitely get a bike. It’s great exercise, too, and it’s fun to ride.

Craigslist has a “bikes” category. I would go see a couple. I might also
visit a local bike shop to get measured for what size bike would suit you
best.

You should be able to bike eight miles in 30 minutes or less.

GT Outpost Trail Bike, Shifter No Work?

I’m have been recently getting into biking. Used to do it as a kid. Grew up, got a car… But I’ve been into photography, parks are on my list and they have trails. I’ll be damned to walk for miles on end. Along with that, my friends are in this exercise phase. I’ve been looking into getting a bike from WalMart for maybe up to $150 or so. But I have a bike on hand which my dad somehow acquired a long time ago.

It’s a GT Outpost Trail, I think 26″. It’s a little dirty, beyond dead tires… I rode it around to see if the shifters work but it doesn’t seem to be doing anything. But then I never riden a bicycle with multiple gears so it could be my errors. The shifters looks to be straightforward, one lever to upshift, one to downshift (both lever on the right of the handlebars) while the other (on the left of the handlebars) changes the big gear. The left shifter doesn’t do anything, the right shifter is only able to shift between 1st and 2nd.

All the gears and other parts say Shimano Altus on them.

So, help would be greatly appreciated. Otherwise I’ll be buying a new bike from walmart tomorrow.

Thank you in advance!!!

I found the bike (for year info) here:

http://www.mtbr.com/cat/older-categories-bikes/bike/gt/outpost-trail/prd_348855_91crx.aspx

It is from 1996 or 97. So, my guess is that the cables have rusted in place.

You have two options:
1. Get new cables and install them yourself or have them installed. You can get replacement cables at Walmart for about $10. And do the install yourself in a hour or so. Or take it to a Local bike shop and they will do it and it might be about $50 more or less.

2. Second choice is to trade it in at your local bike shop or just buy another bike.

Here are the reasons to do # 1 or #2:
How mechanically inclined are you? Think you can do it if shown how? How much money can you spend/waste to get it repaired or to buy new?

Here are sites to show you how to do the repair and adjustment:

and here:

Has a good article on how to buy a bike too.

If you want cheap go to Walmart if you want it to last stay away. You will not find anything worth riding for $100 unless you get lucky and find a good used bike that came from a shop.

Advice on possible pregnancy with 2 false negatives?

Ok the history:
25 years old, married, trying for children. Seeing as I have PCOS my cycle is a bit slower than average. Due to exercise, supplements, and healthy eating though I have been able to accomplish what most women with PCOS pray for. A consistent period, WITHOUT medicine. Since July (I was on Birth Control before then) I have had a monthly cycle ranging from 30 – 37 days. I will usually cramp up to 5 days BEFORE my actual period happens with the big whammo being on the day.

Now the problem:
I was meant to be due for my period for the month this past Monday. (Would have been day 35) It is now day 39 without a period and with out one single cramp. My first reaction? Obviously to take a Preggers test. Well I did, twice, two different days. Both negative. Now I’ve read around online and I know false negatives happen but I want to know personally if it happened to you and if it did what did you do about it?

Should I go to the GP (I went to make an appointment today but they’re closed because of Good Friday) for a blood test? Will they do a blood test on my this early? Or just make me pee in a cup? Are there any tests that are better than others? I used First Response the first time. Or is there anything else I could do? Since it’s the holiday weekend would it be beneficial to go speak with a pharmacist?

Sorry for all the questions, it’s just I’m going on holiday in less than 2 weeks and am trying to wrap my head around if I need to stop things like alcohol and caffeine. (Stop them anyways is what some of you may say, but if I’m on holiday and this is simply my PCOS acting up, I would prefer to enjoy myself)
Completely forgot to mention I had to call off sick from work today because last night I was so close to throwing up (I never get sick or nauseous) And am still quite sick today as well. I don’t want to eat much as it will make me sick. I can only down eggs and toast. I know I know, it could all be in my head. But I would beable to just forget about it if my body didn’t keep reminding me. haha.

Seriously, what are the odds that I’m pregnant?!?

The first day of my Last Menstral Cycle was Jan. 21st 2010, according to the ovulation calculators online Sunday was the day before the 1st day of ovulation. Which it said is the best time to have intercourse. My husband and I never use protection, the pull-out method “generally” works just fine. Although, this past Saturday night/early Sunday (Jan.30/31st) we had a WHOOPS! for the first time EVER!!! No one has ever released inside me until that moment! LOL, quite dramatic! So he said, well, get it out! I said, I’m pretty sure the damage is already done. . . But I took a shower a few minutes later anyway. The only thing that came to mind was douching. I have them but I don’t normally use them. Then I read online the next day that often times douching can actually push the semen further in! SHEESH! It wouldn’t be so bad I suppose, I’m 26, he’s 32, we both exercise regulary, eat very healthy, we’re at a prime age, but are totally unprepared at this moment. We obviously weren’t trying to conceive, but if we did, it’s okay. Anyone have any input? When’s the earliest date I could take a pregnancy test, home or blood? Do you think there’s a great possibility that I may not be b/c of the chemicals in the douching product? or does that generally not make a difference? Is it still highly possible that I am?

admin answers:

I think we both know the odds are pretty good. But even for couples TRYING to conceive, where both partners have perfect reproductive health, it often takes 3-4 months to get pregnant. Of course if everything was lined up just perfect, sure it could happen. I have read that douching is generally not healthy for the sperm and causes a toxic environment that could kill them. It also makes sense that forcefully squirting fluid UPWARD could push something into the cervix. Thats a tough call.

You should try to get Plan B. It just prevents ovulation, (If you havent had it.) And you can take it up to 72 hours after sex. You dont need a prescription. Call around and find a pharmacy that has it. It sounds like you would make great parents though so best of luck either way!

Oh and I have read 10-12 days past ovulation you can test. But you may get a false negative if you dont have enough HCG in your urine. I would wait until a missed pregnancy. I have followed alot of trying to concieve forums in the past and see women going nuts over ‘pregnancy symptoms’ that are the same as PMS symptoms lol. I found out about 2 days after I expected my period. I am a little irregular though. I am 4-5 weeks and have no symptoms btw

Why is my period so irregular lately?

I’ve done some research online and was looking it up but I could never find someone with the exact issues that I have. So basically, I’m going to go back a few months because I have a few questions. A few months ago, I had every symptom in the book that I was pregnant. Swollen tender breasts, sensitive nipples, mild nausea when in contact with certain smells, cramping etc.. but then when I had my period it was a few days late but still fell in the normal range of when your supposed to get it on average. When I bled though I had very heavy clotting ( sorry for the graphics) and I wasn’t sure if maybe I had miscarried or if I was just having a normal period all along and was just imagining things. I ignored it and took it as just a normal period but my gut feeling told me that I had miscarried. So now, as the months have gone by since that incident, my periods have been really wacky. Some months I’ll menstruate for 4-5 days but the past 2-3 months they have only been last 2 or maybe 3 days at the most and they will be heavy at first and then stop and then come back in those 2-3 days. It isn’t exactly normal for me. I smoke about a pack a day, I also smoke marijuana sometimes, I drink occasionally and I have to ride 40 minutes to work each way (there and back) 5 days a week and I do know that extreme exercise can cause irregular cycles but I’m still wondering if maybe I had that miscarriage and that’s why they are all irregular now and I’m also wondering if it’s even possible for me to even be fertile considering my living habits. I also have a lot of stress because of my financial situation as well. Any suggestions? Does anyone know what might be going on with me? Thanks and please no rude comments.

admin answers:

I doubt if you miscarried. With everything that is going on in your life, especially stress and extreme exercise, it will cause you to be irregular. When did you have your last yearly pap? Have you considered going to your Ob or family Dr? If you made an appointment with your Dr and explained everything that is going on in your life and that your periods have been irregular, he may examine you, which is what you want. He will let you know if you had a miscarriage but I think he is going to tell you it is your lifestyle. This would lift one thing from your stress list!
Hope things get better!

Can someone help me with this homework (science)…?

Okay, so I wrote something about how chemical energy turns into electric energy.

If you get a bicycle that humans can ride, you can attach a generator to the bike, and the when you pedal, then you get electricity. This would be mechanical energy turned to electrical energy, or if you consider it chemical energy (the food you eat) to mechanical to electrical. This is good because then the researchers will be healthy from exercising and you don’t need to mine for propane and it will reduce pollution. Researchers may get tired or the electricity may not be enough to run the station. A similar situation it so make a dam on a nearby stream and attach a generator.

Is there a book that describes how to make electric generators, solar, wind power from house hold items?

I want a book that has some different designs for making electric generators from things like old exercise bikes, fan blades for wind power, low cost solar panels, or any other kind of alternative energy that is easily produced from the home, and with recycled or low cost materials. How to store the energy would also be a plus. All I can seem to find are book specifically for one type of alternative power(i.e. just solar, or just wind). I’m hoping there is something out there that is more like what I have described.
Well I was more hoping just for a book that shows simple electrical hook ups to say turn an old exercise bike into a generator of sorts. Things like that. I assumed old fans, and such wouldn’t produce very much energy, but If I use an exercise bike for an hour every day anyway I thought it would be cool to harness, store, and use some of that power to watch TV while im on the bike, or turn a radio on for a few hours or something along those lines. Just like those new crank radios.

Getting on that bike will help you tone up the thighs and so will running. But also you can do weights and squats. Also their are some yoga posses that will help tone up the legs. All you need to do is go to the library and find a DVD or 2. I use my sheets instead of a mat.

Hello,

(ANS) Actually an exercise bike is a good piece of kit, because it works or exercises the following things:-

a) LEGS, KNEES, FEET.
B) BOTTOM or PELVIC AREA
c) Cardio-vascular work out i.e. Gets your heart pumping
d) should make you breathless & swet & make you feel warm inside.
E) good for the lungs & increases blood oxygen levels.

Excellent way to improve stamina & overall health I’d say. This is why such bikes are used in gyms as a warm up routine.

Is 30 minutes of workout on an exercise bike enough?

I’m 20, female, 5’3, 114 pounds and I have some excess fat in love handles- and buttocks area. I was wondering whether 30 minutes on an exercise bike (apartment bike)every day is enough to get rid of my problem. During this time, it’s displayed on the bike that I burn about 300 Kj. Also, twice a week I practice 25 minutes of Zumba (dance-fitness). The problem is I eat a lot of red meat and drink soda and can’t really stop. (I don’t have time to cook anything else) Do you think it’s enough? I just want to get rid of the excess fat, not lose pounds.

Would an exercise bike work for me?

I want to lose weight and am already following a controlled and healthy diet, but I want to try a new exercise regime. In the past, I have bought and used various exercise tapes, a treadmill, a rowing-machine, and a cross-trainer. But I gave up on each one and sold them, mainly because they didn’t work for me (and I found them boring). I’m not really a fan of the gym or swimming either, which is why I’m looking at exercise bikes.

I want to lose weight from my belly, hips, bum, and legs. I also want to tone my legs, bum, and arms. I know an exercise bike won’t do anything for my belly and arms, but will it target the other areas and help me lose weight/tone? I want to lose weight and tone up, without bulking up in muscle. Would an exercise bike make me bulk up?

If you can, please recommend some useful weight loss workouts for my belly (that could go alongside a exercise bike workout). Toning workouts for my arms, legs, and bum would also be great.

I am only looking at exercise bikes because I’ve tried other things and feel like this is my last option. I want something I can do at home – which an exercise bike would do. But I don’t want to waste money (again) on something that I might not use or may not work for me…
I’m a girl, if that makes any difference… “/

There might be, but the simplest solution is to just slow your work-out down and lower the intensity a bit. Do a long warming up before working out, focussing on slowly warming up your hurt knee. Whenever you feel pain, slow is the key word.

Hey everyone. I’m looking for a bike. Just for exercising (nothing intense) but we live in an area with some hills and dirt roads. So I was thinking mountain bike. I don’t have much money to spend and the choice is either under $300 or no bike at all.

I saw this and noticed it had no reviews. Does anyone have a Titan Trailblazer 18-speed women’s bike? Or know anything about it? I just want a bike I can ride that will be safe. If this isn’t what I’m looking for, do you have a suggestion?

Bike Experts-PLEASE give me some help!?

Hi, I need some advice from people who work in bike shops or just bike and know a lot about it. My questions are pretty simple, but I’m a complete novice.

I haven’t been on a bike since I was a kid, but my sister and I both want to get cruiser bikes (most definitely the beach cruiser type, not a comfort/commuter bike) to ride now that the weather is getting nice. But I don’t know what to look for. I don’t want a super expensive one. I’d like to keep it below $500. I don’t know if steel or aluminum is better (and why) and I know that some come with a ‘flat-foot’ style pedal and I have no idea what that means. Also, what drive train to get, etc. I did look all over the internet for reviews, but most of the sites I found just give general information. Nothing about any specific brands or styles.

FYI-each bike will be hauling a double baby trailer. The lakes and biking areas where we live have some hills, but nothing to steep. We’re in Nebraska. My sister is 5’11 so the women’s bike she gets will need to be tall enough. Oh, and we’re in our 40′s and don’t plan on doing any racing. Ha-Ha. This is just for fun and exercise and to entertain the babies.

Please give me your expert-biking guru advice and THANK-YOU!!

If you want to pull a trailer and have hills a cruiser is the worst possible bike you could ever buy. Visit the local bike shop and look at comfort and hybrid bikes it will be a much better choice for what you want. Google ” bike shop + your zip ” and start there.

Cycling gives you leg muscles, which add to weight. But twice round the block on yous bike keeps your joints in good order.
Swimming gives you neck and shoulder muscles.
I suggest you eat 3 meals per day, don’t snack all day and have a humongous meal in evening, that is fattening.
You are only 16, you have puppy fat don’t worry to much about it. Just do the exercises, by the time you are 20 you will be very shapely lady

Turn a mountain bike into an exercise bike?

I don’t want to pay a ridiculous amount of money to buy an exercise bike when I already have a mountain bike. But part of the reason I don’t ride my bike that often is because I tend to get a bit bored while I ride around since I live in a residential neighborhood. So I figure that I can get a stand for the back tire, use it at home, and amuse myself with the TV or my computer or whatever.

I’ve looked on Google and all of the stands out there seem to have an attachment that provides resistance to the wheel, but I don’t want that. I have enough gears on my bike that I can provide my own resistance and not need an extra thing to do it for me, especially because I hear that it wears your tire down a lot.

So, does anyone know where I can get just a stand? No extra frills. Just something to get my back tire off the ground so I won’t move while I pedal.

Thanks!

All of the stands that you require do not have to touch the tire for you to use them. If you dont use the proper supports on the dropouts on your rear wheel then you are putting your life in your hands. Here is an example of how very little you could spend to get the proper stand : http://www.performancebike.com/bikes/Product_10052_10551_1028753_-1___22000 see the black and silver thing? That is what touches the tire and gives you resistance and a much better workout too but if you dont want it to touch the tire then dont dial it up to the tire…..leave it off and away (or not) you go safely!

How Much Weight Can I Lose A Week By Using an Exercise Bike?

I’m 18, 5’2 and weigh about 145 Pounds. My goal is to weigh at least 125 or 130. I look alright, but there’s this obnoxious roll around my middle that I absolutely can’t stand! Here is what I’m planning to do, and I would like to know an estimate as to how much weight I can lose a week.

- Drink only one serving size of Vitamin Water once a day. (50 Calories per serving).
- Drink more regular water.
- Run 1/2 to a mile 3 days a week outside and/or on a treadmil.
- Use an exercise bike 45 minutes – an hour a day 6 days a week.
- No fast food or fatty foods, and less carbs.
- Cut down naps and snacking periods.
And…
- Stop skipping breakfast or lunch.

Is there a possible estimate as to how long it would probably take me with this regiment (I’m open to more suggestions, by the way) to get to my ideal weight quickly and lose this obnoxious roll?

And if I do lose it, will it just be sagging skin?

admin answers:

You seem to be focused. Also, I believe you can get more done at home than at a gym. I have lost over 40 pounds in less than 3 months (but that is my particular experience). For your case, I truly believe that is possible to lose 30 pounds in 4 months. It is only losing 8 pounds a month. That is a very attainable goal.

As always, diet and exercise are the key.

As for diet, try eating 6 smaller meals a day with a protein shake for breakfast and lunch. A single serving of fruit for mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack. Dinner should be a sensible meal- minimize rice and breads. Try this for a two-week period. Then, vary your meals accordingly.

Workouts should have weights and circuit type of training. Free weights are great for toning and weight-loss. You can try dumbbell squats with shoulder presses. Here is a great and effective circuit training using a treadmill. Walk for 2 minutes (as a warm-up), jog for 2 minutes, run hard for a minute, then jog for 2 minutes, run hard for a minute, etc…do this for about 20-23 minutes. This works great.

By the way, do not be a slave to scale. Check the mirror also. It will show results.

This is just a start. Keep working out and eating properly.

When you get into your exercise routine for a few months (maybe 2-3 months), get variety by changing it around. You can change from a treadmill to a stand-still bike, etc.

Good Luck.

I would say yes.

It’ll get you in pretty good cardiovascular conditioning, but you’ll want to at least do some running as well so that you can get your legs used to the intensity that running demands.

Otherwise, you’ll be in good cardiovascular conditioning, but your legs (calves, shins, hamstrings, thighs) may feel quite exhausted and in pain, while running and afterward…

If you have a hernia, i wouldnt suggest doing anything that classes as “an alternative to squats” including high-resistance bicycling. Keep the resistance to moderate or below, use the bike daily as long as the injury is not painful or exacerbated and follow your doctor’s instructions.

How should I exercise on the exercise bike????????

I am trying to lose 10lbs through a fitness and healthy eating regime. Unfortunately I am quite unfit, and I find that walking very briskly is the best way for me to exercise without giving up due to tirednes. However, it is coming into winter and it gets dark here at about 6 o’ clock, so it not really safe for me to walk at this time, also I am taking an important exam this year, so exercising in the house would be much easier to fit into my schedule.

My family has an exercise bike, and try to make an effort to use it, however unfortunately I find it extremely boring. I cannot do vigorous peddling for more than 20 secs without giving up. Can anybody give me some tips about what way to exercise on it, that is I would REALLY appreciate it if you could give me a detailed plan of how exactly to do it, e.g. 3 minutes at this many rpm followed by..The functions on my bike are rpm, speed , time and distance (doesn’t say what unit used,I presume km as this is Ireland) Please help me!!!
Sorry, forgot to add that my bike also has up to 15 levels of resistance! As I mentioned before, I really would appreciate help!

I hate going to the gym because it’s so boring, so I bought an exercise bike. I watch TV when I use it. I ride the bike for an entire show (about 45 minutes). The TV is a great distraction, so I don’t feel like I’m really exercising. Also, I put a fan in front of the exercise bike so I don’t get too sweaty (I hate to sweat).

I usually start out at a lower resistance, then try to work my way up a bit until I start breathing more heavily. This shows that I’m actually working out, not just sitting on a funny looking chair watching TV. Try switching it up though, low resistance, medium, high, medium, low, medium, high, etc.
