How intense should my exercise bike workout be?

I plan on using my exercise bike for 30 minutes a day. When I use it, sometimes I will have random bursts and start peddling as fast as I can for a minute, and then I’ll just slow down and go back to steady pace. Should I be peddling as fast as I can for the full 30 minutes?

Do interval training. So bike as fast as you can for example 30seconds, then take a 30second break cycling at a slower pace, then repeat and continue for the whole 30 minutes. You can do it for 1 minute, 5 minutes or a mix like 5 minutes work,1 minute rest, 4 minutes work 1 minute rest and so on. Even try standing up on bike while peddling as fast as you can and then a sitting peddle for the resting parts.

Not many, the trainer in my local gym said its the least effective exercsie machine. I would personally go for a cross trainer they have one in argos £87 which has good reviews

What is the best way to use an exercise bike?

I recently got an exercise bike because I don’t really have alot of time to go to the gym etc. It’s nothing too fancy but it has calories/pulse/time etc and different levels of difficulty. I tried using it but found I had no idea what I should be doing in terms of a regime and ended up just wearing myself out after a few minutes.

What would be the best routine/regime to follow? I’m pretty unfit so I need something that builds up gradually.

Well use the lowest setting to start with then when you find your fine go to the next and then keep doing that, youll find youll be more fit as you go on
