Is this a good exercise bike?

I want to get a cheap easy to use exercise bike but does this one look good? This is the cheapest one they sell at a catalogue store called Argos, it’s made by Pro Fitness. Check it out:

It will be ok for a beginner because it is a bog standard exercise bike.
If you aren’t a beginner, look for something else :)

if i put it on fast so that i don’t struggle will i lose weight, i have heard if you put it on full so it is hard to cycle you will only gain muscle and not lose weight. i want to lose weight in my belly im 17 years old and i have tried everything to lose weight but it doesn’t work, im 95kg and about 5ft7

Unlike many gym exercises, you use cardio effort to burn calories NOT weights and muscles. Like running you develop and tone thin, strong muscles. Not bulky ‘big’ muscles.

You accomplish this by riding properly. On either a bike or trainer, you want to ride for a minimum of one hour at a time. You want to pedal the bike at a spin / cadence of a MINIMUM of 70 rpm WITH MODERATE pedal pressure. You DO NOT want to ride with a low pedal speed and too high (hard ) of pedal pressure.

Spinning (yes, like spin class is the proper way to ride either a bicycle or a trainer. When used in COMBINATION with an effective diet you can lose weight and tone muscle. You lose weight at roughly the same rate all over your body. There is NO such thing as body sculpting. You burn calories at a rate of 35 calories per mile. By burning calories intake, and burning more by exercise you can quiclky burn the 3500 calories it takes to burn off one pound of weight.
